From the Horn of Africa to a table near you; once an Ethiopian prince, Wube now rules over the Republic of The Badali with an iron fist and a bleeding heart. As General Manager, Wube ensures no stone is left unturned and no customer is left without a full belly and a beaming smile.
Shane is a talented and upcoming Executive Chef who has worked in various roles in fine dining restos all around town including but not limited to North 44, Terra and One Restaurant. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from stints in all of this highly acclaimed restaurants, and we are proud to have his culinary insight, palate and dedication to our guest’s experience.
Guest Experience Manager
Ella is our guest experience manager, a role in which we task her with the hiring, training and scheduling of all of our sales staff as well as ensuring the store is set up and ready for the day. Originally born in Sweden, into a family run hotel business, she met her Canadian husband in her travels. After various stints both in Toronto and outside of the city, including Cibo Yorkville, Ella is now an integral member of our family.
Executive Sous Chef
A classically trained English Literature major from Concordia University, our Executive Sous Chef got the food bug early as he dined in bistros and restos in his old university town of Montreal. Justin took his future by the horns while working in kitchens all over La Belle Province. Recently married and with a young daughter in hand, Justin moved to Toronto and has been applying his craft with us since 2015.
Jr. Sous Chef
Jacob has been a craftsman all of his life, originally trained in Industrial Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design. He now spends his time ensuring the kitchen brigade is executing recipes meticulously and providing for the best guest experience.
Christina Brown joined the Badali family in the spring of 2017 and is a welcome addition to our team. Previously the G.M. of Origin, Chris has dived into the role of designing artisanal cocktails, developing wine lists and creating an even livelier bar. Come on by and enjoy a fine cocktail or craft beer on her 40 foot marble top bar.
Brittany is our events coordinator responsible for all group bookings and corporate receptions. She frequents the hippest of restaurants and bars about town and we rely on her to tell us when we are acting out of touch and are in danger of losing our hipster image.
As adept on the restaurant floor as he is on the baseball diamond, front of house manager Doug is an affable fellow who is loved by both the tables we serve and the staff he assists.
Part time Manager
Not many people can juggle being a new father, a teacher and a restaurant manager all at once. Bobby does just that and more, maintaining the same calm demeanour he employed as a semi-pro soccer player regardless of what’s thrown his way.

Yaseen is a guest focused service professional with many years of experience under his belt in both casual family dining and in more formal settings. You will find him ensuring our service team and kitchen brigade are offering you their very best each and every meal period.

An avid reader and aspiring writer, he is the perfect bartender companion. With his love of all things Blue Jays, Arsenal FC, and his unrelenting curiosity, he is the perfect person with whom a guest can trade opinions on current events and sports.
